Well it has nothing to do with cross dressing... unless of course you particularly want to.
It is a 7 day stage event (due to bridleway laws, it's not allowed to be called a race) it covers basically a MTB marathon each day as what they call linking stages, with several Time Trial "Special Stages" in which you can get placings in the competition and the good thing is it plays to all strengths, so if you're good at climbing, good at descending, good at night riding, there's something for everyone.
Over the course of the week, the camp site is moved each day, your belongings are transported whilst you rde the linking stage (approx 80km per day, with an average of 2100m ascent each day!) and being in Wales, it will undoubtedly rain. It's not for the feint hearted or weak willed.
I've done plenty of reading and spoken to lots of people and the general concensus is that it's a really friendly event whilst being tough with it and I'm beyond excited now , it sounds like a holiday camp! ;-)
